Wire Wizard Valk optimises wire transport between drum and robotPrint this page
The weld wire dispensing systems of the American Wire Wizard optimise wire transport between drum and robot (resp. roll and torch). This extensive programme includes among others cones, flexible hoses, inlet pieces with less fasteners and a large number of adapters and intermediate couplings, enabling it to be used to improve wire transport of the most commonly used robot welding installations.
Weld wire dispensing systems are being sold by Valk Welding from Alblasserdam. During the fair Schweissen & Schneiden, the robot integrator announced that it had gained the agency for all of Europe and Russia. In principle, the programme was developed to bridge the distance between drum and robot (or roll and torch). For this, special polymer hoses and ceramic couplings have been developed, with which large distances can be bridged, hence reducing the friction resistance to a minimum. Cone, ceramic inlet piece, wire guidance and connector for the wire motor thereby form one unit for conic bevelling in order to simplify wire lead-through. As the programme includes several accessories, complete sets can be composed for all brands of robots and welding wire. The system is extremely powerful in that the adapters are always suitable for standard fast couplings, with which the system can be mounted and dismounted very rapidly. As a novelty on the fair, Valk Welding showed the pneumatic wire feed unit PFA (Pneumatic Feed Assist), an affordable solution to feed welding wire over greater lengths. This gives the possibility to almost without any friction feed a welding wire from a fixed position (welding wire drum) to the wire feed unit. Lengths of 30 meter and more can be handled without problems. The wire feed sensor (HHSS) too is a new product. used to register the lead-through speed when using wire diameters of 0.30 to 12.5 mm. Beside the wire lead-through systems, the Wire Wizard programme also includes several logistic accessories, such as trolleys to move or lift heavy drums. In short, a complete and extensive programme, of which a 24 page product catalogue is now available (www.valkwelding.com).
